River Edge, New Jersey

Meet the heart behind the flowers.

Yumila is a Guatemalan-American designer, a wife, and a mother of three who came to this country with a dream of building something of her own — and built it out of flowers. For more than fifteen years, her shop has been a family affair, with her husband and children often working beside her.

Her story

In Yumila's own words

How she began
Yumila started at the very bottom of a large floral wholesale company — sweeping floors and cutting roses. She worked her way up stem by stem: first floral designer, then wedding sales, then manager, and eventually one of the company's leaders. In 2010, she took everything she had learned and opened a shop of her own.
What she loves about celebrations
Making dreams come true. Yumila loves taking part in one of the most special days of a family's life — listening closely, offering ideas, and shaping flowers into the celebration they always imagined, so they love every second of it.
Creative philosophy
Every celebration has its own personality, so no two designs should ever look alike. Yumila starts with your story — your colors, your culture, your venue's light — and builds flowers that feel like they could only belong to you.
What clients can expect
Professionalism, honesty, and someone who truly cares. Yumila is organized, detail-oriented, and upfront about budget — a person you can rely on from the first phone call to the final petal on the day itself.

How we work

Four things we never rush.

  • We listen first

Before anything is sketched, we want to hear the details only you would know about your celebration.

  • Color with intention

Palettes are built around your inspiration and your venue's light — not a formula we repeat.

  • Care in the details

Ribbon, vessel, stem placement, the way a garland falls. Small choices carry the whole room.

  • Present on the day

Installation is part of the design. We stay with it until every element sits the way it should.
